Access to clean water is a fundamental human right and a critical determinant of health. However, the world faces significant water challenges that threaten to undermine progress toward achieving global health goals. According to the World Health Organization (WHO), an estimated 2.2 billion people worldwide lack access to safe drinking water, while 4.2 billion people lack access to safely managed sanitation services. These challenges have far-reaching health implications, leading to a higher risk of infectious diseases, malnutrition, and other health problems.

Abstract submissions and side event proposals for Water & Health: Where Science Meets Policy 2023 will be accepted through March 18, 2023. Every abstract will undergo a peer-review process. Side events, such as meetings, workshops, networking sessions, training courses, or open forums, are an opportunity to bring together a range of stakeholders to focus on one specific area of interest in the format of their choice.
