As a student ambassador, you present the science subjects at high school fairs, information days and in social media to prospective students. We are looking for you who is studying a program or independent courses with us and who is aiming for a science degree at the University of Gothenburg.

Job Tasks

As a student ambassador, you will be the faculties’ representative during our collaboration and recruitment activities. Your work will mainly include informing prospective students about our courses and programs within science, mathematics and conservation and to talk about what it is like to be a student at the University of Gothenburg. Due to the covid-19 pandemic, this years recruitment activities might take place online through digital fairs, films and live streams on Facebook and our own website. At other times, you might be running our booth at various fairs and talk to interested students during study visits or information days. Depending on the situation during the spring semester, the work may involve visiting schools and meeting students at primary or secondary school level.

Qualifications

You have to be an active student in a natural science subject and must have studied at least one semester at the faculty. Furthermore, it is important that you are outgoing and comfortable talking to people and being visible on the web, in film clips and on social media. You are structured as a person and can convey information in a clear way and find it fun to share your experiences as a student. Great emphasis is placed on personal suitability.

Employment

The employment is an intermittent employment until and including 2022-09-30 where the number of hours varies depending on need. Mostly, we need help during the major study fair periods in October-December and February-March. Placement at the Faculty Office of Science. Start date will be agreed upon individually.

Remuneration

Remuneration of SEK 130 per hour plus holiday pay. The travel time is also reimbursed (for travel outside Gothenburg) according to the same rate. Of course, we pay for travel and overnight stays where applicable. Allowances are also paid for overnight stays. In addition to the compensation, you also get work experience, which is an advantage for future employment. You will also receive a certificate from us for the work you have done.
