Eligibility Criteria for Global Korea Scholarship

General standards:

  • All applicants must be in good physical and mental health.
  • All applicants must have kept a cumulative grade point average (CGPA) of at least the following:
  • CGPA: 2.64/4.0, 2.80/4.3, 2.91/4.5, 3.23/5.0
  • Age: Must score at least 80% on a scale of 100, or be in the top 20% of their class.

Nationality:

  • All applicants must be nationals of nations with the NIIED designation.
  • None of the applicants, including their parents, may be Korean citizens.
  • Citizens of Korea and individuals with dual citizenship (those who possess both Korean and foreign citizenship) are ineligible to apply.
  • Documentation demonstrating the renunciation of Korean citizenship is required from applicants and their parents who previously had Korean citizenship.

Age Criteria:

  • As of September 1, 2024, you must be younger than 40 years old (born after September 1, 1983)
  • Academic professors with the citizenship of one of the Official Development Aid (ODA) beneficiaries indicated in the table below and who will be under 45 as of September 1, 2024 (born after September 1, 1978) are eligible to apply.

Degree Requirements

  • For admission to a master’s programme or a doctoral programme, applicants must have, or be expected to have, a bachelor’s degree, or a master’s degree.
