About the role
An exciting opportunity has become available for an enthusiastic and self-motivated Data Science/ Data Analytics post-graduate to work closely with PJ Care Limited in order to establish a novel methodology and processes to improve personal care planning and management in PJ Care’s centres with the objective to better respond to the needs of residents with neurological conditions. PJ Care is based in Peterborough, a cathedral city with a rich heritage, in Cambridgeshire, 40 minutes from Cambridge, and an hour by train from London.What can you expect from this job?
- You will be responsible for leading and delivering a challenging and strategic R&D project that directly impacts the business, with the opportunity to be a champion of real change.
- You will receive specialist input and support from an academic team with specialist knowledge and experience relevant to the project.

The post is based at PJ Care’s Eagle Wood Neurological Care Centre located in Bretton Way, Peterborough.Contract Information£27,000-£31,000 per annum depending on qualifications and experience, plus a £4,000 personal development budget.This appointment is for a period of 24 months on a fixed term contract basis with a strong possibility of conversion into a permanent R&D role at PJ Care Ltd subject to performance and suitable role availability.The post is based at PJ Care’s Eagle Wood Neurological Care Centre located in Bretton Way, Peterborough and the employment is through the University of LeicesterAbout youWith a PhD which involves research using quantitative data science/data analysis and either a BSc or MSc in a cognate subject, the associate should have the following skill set and expertise to be successful in this role:
- Working with modern statistical software and statistical and data computing methods*
- Programming in open access and source statistical software packages, specifically ‘R’*
- Independently initiate, plan, and implement research (with a record of research achievement) *
- Presenting (orally and written) data methods and findings so they can be understood and used by non-experts*.
- Writing up research findings for academic dissemination and discussion*
It is also essential that the Associate:
- Extensive research data management skills, and able to use different databases and formats*.
- High levels of IT literacy with regularly used software in organisation (i.e. Microsoft Office)*
- Able to positively and effectively work and communicate with experts and non-experts across an organisation*
- Take responsibility and effectively work as part of a team and independently (plan and prioritise own work).*
- Excellent project management and organisational skills*
